Arches National Park is an absolutely gorgeous area in Utah that is filled with really cool looking rock arches formed over immense amounts of time. It is hard to do the arches justice with photographs as they are absolutely massive! Some of the arches include a decent hike following cairn’s along rock paths for miles in the heat. This combined with the amount of people that are visiting the park during the day is why most of the shots in this film are during sunset and of the stars. Oh.. since we are on that topic now, the stars are insane in the park! Visit during the summer for a blazing milky way with the right weather conditions!
Right beside Arches is Canyonlands National Park. Canyonlands is much much larger and takes a lot longer to get around in due to its size. This park is where you will find the opening scene in this film (Mesa Arch)! Come for a beautiful sunrise but make sure you get there early as tour buses will drop off hundreds of tourists just before sunrise to get the classic photo of the arch being lit from below! Regardless of the crowds it is still a sight to be seen!
