When Amazon announced that they may start using drones to deliver parcels the worlds media made a huge fuss about the potential. Obviously this was all PR hype designed to promote Amazon ahead of the Christmas rush. In the Mean time real drones have been carrying out real work at the Sochi Winter Olympic Games.
Armed with live video cameras the aerial devices are being used to capture the snowboarding action for millions of viewers around the world. We’re told that they were deployed as a back up when the wire cameras failed. Either way it’s great to see drones being used at such a major event.
