4k Video Is the Future, but Video Producers Aren't Ditching SD Content Yet

Delivering better-quality video, online and off, isn’t the only way to keep customers buying. Now that we’re used to killer picture quality, hot new markets could open fast in a mediocre viewing experience.


 


On a per-view basis, opting for HD is only a few dollars more than SD.


 


But, all told, enough people watch a lot of video content — and enough people are looking for an effective way to do it on a budget — that we shouldn’t be surprised to see the lo-fi market take off and expand.
